At 5:30 a.m. on May 19, 2021, cyclone Tauktae deteriorated gradually into a deep depression over South Rajasthan and the neighboring Gujarat area. It was centered on May 19, 2021, at 8:30 a.m.
2. Cyclone Yaas
Cyclone Yaas developed in the Bay of Bengal and made landfall in West Bengal and the neighboring Odisha coastlines in May 2021. Oman provides the cyclone’s name. In preparation for Cyclone Yaas, Prime Minister Modi inspected the state and federal authorities’ readiness to cope with the crisis. He also demanded that anyone participating in offshore activities be evacuated as soon as possible.
Amit Shah, Minister of Home Affairs, will also preside over a virtual meeting with the Chief Ministers of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and the LG of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to assess preparations for Cyclone Yaas.
3. Cyclone Nisarga
Cyclone Nisarga was the Arabian Sea’s second pre-monsoon cyclone to form. It made landfall at Alibag, Mumbai, and diminished in 6 hours. It was the city’s first cyclone since Phyan in 2009. In Maharashtra, the storm killed six people and injured 16.
4. Cyclone Amphan
Cyclone Amphan was a strong tropical cyclone that ravaged the Indian states of Odisha and West Bengal, claiming lives and destroying property. Storm Amphan was the first pre-monsoon super cyclone to form in the Bay of Bengal this century.
5. Cyclone Kyarr
Cyclone Kyarr was the second most powerful tropical cyclone since 2007’s Cyclone Gonu. This Cyclone was formed in the Arabian Sea and traveled from the Indian coast to the Gulf of Aden. It made landfall in Western India, Oman, the United Arab Emirates, Socotra, and Somalia.
6. Cyclone Maha
Cyclone Maha was a powerful cyclonic storm that intensified as it moved parallel to the Indian shore. As it reached Gujarat, the cyclone diminished. Cyclone Maha made landfall in Gujarat as a depression before weakening.

7. Cyclone Vayu
Cyclone Vayu formed in the Arabian Sea and was a powerful cyclonic storm that inflicted moderate damage to people and property in Gujarat. Storm Vayu was the most powerful cyclone to impact the state since the Gujarat Cyclone in 1998. Cyclone Vayu also hit the Maldives, Pakistan, and Oman, in addition to India.
8. Cyclone Hikka
Cyclone Hikka originated from the Arabian Sea, intensified, and made landfall in Oman. Kysar, Maha, Vayu, and Hikka emerged from the Arabian Sea in 2019.
9. Cyclone Fani
Cyclone Fani was the most powerful tropical cyclone to impact Odisha since the Odisha Cyclone in 1998. 10. BOB 03
The Indian Meteorological Department designated a depression in the Bay of Bengal as BOB 03. The BOB 03 struck the north Odisha-West Bengal coastline the day after it was identified, causing massive devastation to lives and property.
11. Cyclone Bulbul
Cyclone Bulbul was a powerful cyclonic storm that struck West Bengal, India. It produced massive rains, floods, and other natural disasters, resulting in the loss of life and property. Outside of India, it made landfall in Bangladesh.
